ZONING DEPARTMENT

ZONING PERMITS 

Zoning permits are required for new houses, additions, and conversion of buildings to residential use.

Permits are required for new homes, additions, accessory buildings, sheds on skids greater than 10’X12’, ponds, outdoor signs, fences, garages and pools with a water depth capacity of 2 feet or greater and a length, width or diameter of twelve feet. Conditional use permits are required for Home Occupations, Bed & Breakfast, and Wireless Communication Facilities. Contact the Zoning Inspector, Scott Hopkins at 440-213-8820 or zoninginspector@penfieldtownship.com with any questions or problems regarding zoning.  Zoning books with maps are available for $15.00.

ZONING & APPEALS

Zoning Commission meetings are held quarterly, on the 3rd Thursday of January, April, July, and October. Otherwise, meetings are scheduled as needed and posted on the Town Hall bulletin board.  Appeals Board meetings will be held at the call of the chair, and at such other times as the Board may determine.
